Cookie Policy

The small number of cookies and local storage keys itsdad.io uses, what each is for, and how to turn them off.

1. The short version

There are no advertising cookies on this site. No ad network, no retargeting pixels, no data brokers. What is set is either required to make the site work or used to count how a page performed.

2. Strictly necessary

  • Authentication session — keeps you signed in to your account and library. Set when you log in; without it, accounts cannot work.
  • Checkout session — carries your order through Stripe checkout and back to the confirmation page.
  • Security and load balancing — set by the hosting layer to protect against abuse.

These cannot be switched off in the site because the site cannot function without them. They set no advertising identifier.

3. Functional

  • Referral attribution — stores the partner or campaign link that brought you here so referral credit is assigned correctly and the same offer is not shown twice.
  • Preference storage — remembers dismissed prompts, such as the Insider list invitation, so you are not asked repeatedly.

4. Analytics

First-party analytics record page views, traffic source, device class, and clicks on key buttons, stored in my own database rather than sent to an advertising platform. The purpose is narrow: to see which pages help people and which do not.

Optional third-party analytics or pixel IDs may be configured in the future. If any are added, this page is updated first and consent is requested where the law requires it.

5. Third-party cookies

Stripe sets its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention and payment security, governed by Stripe's privacy policy. Embedded content from other platforms, where used, may set cookies under their own policies.

6. How to control cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage from its privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage will break sign-in, your library, and checkout. Blocking functional or analytics storage will not affect anything you paid for.

Browsers that send a Global Privacy Control signal are honored as an opt-out of any non-essential tracking.
